Celestial Plains
Resting in serentity
The celestial plains are accessible by rootlings who have been slain on the earth. They are small moons with fantasy and nature elements combined into the landscape. Rootlings in the celestial plain can communicate in a rudimentary way with rootlings on the earth by blinking their lumesse flames softly back and forth,
Arbor
The first rootling moon. It is a delicate land blanketed with soft, reddish sand. The moon got its name for the weeping trees upon it. Sometimes they are forested together, and other times they are sparse, but they always trickle lumesse from their branches. The lumesse flows like a stream across the surface of this moon, and it can be found shimmering in underground lakes. The colors of the environment on rootling moons may be exotic compared to what is found naturally on earth, consisting of soft pastels. It is rumored that Arbor was created by the Elden Roots to be a haven for counsel meetings.

Celestial Communication
and required quests
For a long time it was thought that rootling's who passed to the celestial realm were lost to their earthly bretheren, but this is not so. There is an art of communication that can be learned through the completion of proper quests. The celestial communication quests are unique because they cost lumesse to perform, and are considered a transaction. The rootling is investing its lumesse into strengthening a very special skill. Log the quest with its score with your other art, and the quest level as a transaction with its respective cost.
Communication Quests although they cost lumesse to perform, they are still scored with the quest bonus of +15LP per quest
- Meditation -300LP | the rootling must spend time in deep thought. It should clear its head of all things but the one it wants to see. You should depict your rootling through any art form in a place where they feel most at peace. This might be a place that reminds them of their friend.
- Recollection -400LP | the rootling is strengthening its memory of this past friend. Depict a memory of an activity they did together they really enjoyed, or an important arc in their story. This might be a repaint, a retelling, or something that happened "off screen." (something canon to their story that hasn't yet been written or drawn about.)
- Selenography -500LP | much time is spent looking up and studying the moons. The rootling is depicted searching the sky for signs of its friend. This may take hours or weeks, The rootling may be looking for a familiar lumesse glow, or a tug, call, or pull toward a specific celestial object. The rootling is studying the moons.
- Voice -600LP | the rootling begins to make contact with its friend. It can hear its voice, and they can telepathically communicate back and forth. This prompt is a good one do portray in writing, but it could also be done in comic format, or as one image with a conversation running down the page. Show us a conversation of lost friends who are finally able to reconnect. Consider if this rootling has been alone on its moon, or if it has met new friends.
- Dreamwalker -700LP | the rootling enters a meditative, dreamlike state. Through the lumesse magic it has been investing throughout this journey it can project an image of itself onto the moon. The rootling can stay here and interact with its celestial friend for as long as it would like, but time slows down for it on earth. Once this quest has been completed once, the dreamwalker ability can be repeated at will for no cost.
Player-Built Moons
In the rootling ARPG players are allowed to create their own mini maps for their rootling characters. Moons are no exception, however, before you design a moon you should look through pre-built maps in the Observatory to see if there are any themes you enjoy. Once a rootling has ascended to a moon it cannot leave again, so if you send your rootling to a moon by itself it will be alone unless another joins it.

Moon Design Rules
- moons appear as wispy, magical, small nature spheres
- they can range from made up mostly of lumesse magic, to made up mostly of natural substances and sprinkled with magic
- pastels and soft unusual colors may be used for landscape features
- the moon design should be treated like its own character, given much love and thought
- moons are public to all players who would like to use them
- designs should be thoroughly thought out, explained, and described through writing and images. The moon will have its own page in the Observatory, so consider how you would like it presented to the rest of the playerbase.
