Flame Language
Rootlings can be seen with and without their lumesse flames displayed. While lumesse magic is a core part of their species, how they choose to use and present it is up to the individual. Some rootlings prefer to use their flames as a sort of language. One flick of the fire could be a warning, while another may be a greeting. Rootlings might also choose to display emotions based on the size or brightness of their flames. Some rootlings might try to woo others by dazzling them with lumesse.
In other thoughts of communication, rootlings might use their flames to guide or to mislead. A benevolent rootling could lure a lost soul to safety by the twinkle of its lumesse, however, a malicious rootling could draw it further in. Rootlings are not inherently good or bad, and they may use their flames according to their own natures.

How your rootling presents its flame is up to you. Players can design new, fascinating ways for lumesse to be utilized.
Trinket Collecting
Rootlings who dwell in lands near humans, or who wander great distances, sometimes encounter trinkets and treasures. These strange, unique, sometimes shiny items can be quite appealing. Your rootling might like to collect them piece by piece into a little hide-away, or it may become so infatuated with an object that it wants to display it as part of its form. To have an object become a part of your rootling's body it must complete an oddity trial, which is a story art prompt. If a rootling desires to wear one of these found things as an accessory, then a written prompt must be completed.
The Rootlings ARPG is designed to encourage creative freedom driven by story development. Prompts are required for character building to connect players with the game, create a sense of achievement, and grow character's stories.

Artistry
Rootlings have been given a great gift as mystical beings in their world. Their lumesse magic allows them to mold the world in ways no other creature has access to. Some rootlings make more use of these powers than others do. Rootlings might choose to enhance all the organic material in their dwelling place, possibly causing large flowering gardens to spring up in wild beauty. They might sculpt the ice or snow around their home, carve messages or stories in stone walls, or arrange the stones and mushrooms of the forest into organized shapes. Let your creativity flow!
