Clan Leader Trials
So you think you're worthy to rule them all
Becoming a clan leader is a huge moment for a rootling. This is a very mature step to take. Not every rootling will or should become a clan leader. Clans and their members will be logged on the Clans & Inhabitants page.
Requirements
In order for a rootling to become a clan leader it MUST have:
In order for a rootling to become a clan leader it MUST have:
- Completed all of its dwelling prompts
- Have created at least one other rootling either by coronation or temple-birth
- Be sharing a dwelling with at least four other rootlings who will become a part of the clan
Responsibilities
Clan leaders are responsible for their respective rootling members. These rootlings are sharing an area now, and it is important that they get along well with each other. Clan leaders must decide how new members may join- whether they hold a vote among existing members, or work together with members to create a specific trial for entry. Player-designed clan entry trials still earn the 15LP trial bonus in scoring. They must be consistent with every new entrant, and not target any one player. Clan leaders should put in place rules for interacting with other rootlings, animals, and humans, and these rules should be for the safety of the clan. Leaders should be focused on the health of their territory and how best to preserve its life. Clans may have goals they want to achieve for a certain area that are met over time. For example, one goal might be to regrow a felled forest. Another might be to refill a dried up lake by having a mass amount of rootlings learn water elementals. Of course, clan leaders who are elmental masters may teach these skills to their comrades.

Territory & Dwelling
Clans are groups of rootlings who are working together to defend and care for one space. The size of the clan's territory will depend on the number of rootling members. *Note, rootlings may share dwellings without forming a clan, too! Clans tend to be more unified, structured, and community-oriented. A clan's territory is vital to their livelihood. A rootling's lumesse is pure and bright, but it may become polluted or destroyed if its dwelling is tarnished. Clan leaders must take care of their land, and they may pull their members together to watch over it.

Leader Trials
- A Gift to the Earth | the rootling must partake in an action that benefits the health of this land. It may plant seeds, drive out poachers, protect an endangered species, or a number of other things. Players may come up with their own ideas as to what their rootling could do for its specific dwelling place.
- Art of Peacemaking | to complete this trial the rootling must present the qualities of a peaceful leader. There may be a misunderstanding in the surrounding area that your rootling can help to resolve. There may be a bitterness or a battle going on that your rootling can soothe. Invent a conflict that your rootling can overcome, and portray this in art.
- The Great Stewardship | a rootling may be the master of an elemental by the time it is grown enough to become a clan leader. Elementals are strong magical abilities that take a lot of time and practice to learn. If your rootling has mastered one, it may also teach it to the four other rootlings who want to join the can. This trial is complete when those four rootlings reach level 2. The clan leader-to be must be present in the artwork that portrays the younger ones learning the elemental ability.
Initiation
After your rootling has completed its trial it will be given dominion over its dwelling by the Elden Root(s) who are over the biome (or biome overlaps) in question. Your rootling and it's four contributors will be joined together as a clan, and their lumesse colors (if different) will change to match the clan leader's color. *please make sure all players are aware of this before forming a clan that includes their rootlings. If a player owns a rootling in this space that does not want to be a part of the clan, please respect this and allow their rootling to share the space without being a part of the clan.
